Montcalm County Jail Release Route

Michigan FOIA generally calls for a response within five business days and permits one extension of up to ten business days. Bond Before Montcalm Jail Release
Montcalm County lists lobby-kiosk cash or card, an online Express Account card deposit, and a mailed money order as bond channels. A mailed payment must carry the person's full name or inmate number. Fees can apply to the electronic methods. These details explain how a bond condition may be met, but no receipt establishes that the jail completed every release step.
Other cases, detainers, or processing can delay departure. Confirm the result after payment through the jail and MI-VINE. The official bond page also warns that court-based status information may not update at once.

Montcalm Jail Work Release Status
Work release does not end Montcalm County Jail custody. The sentence order must authorize the program, the person must apply, and the coordinator must approve participation. The county says approval can take several days and is not guaranteed. An approved participant prepays the first week of room and board through a $115.50 deposit to the inmate account.
Physical departure for an approved work period remains part of the custodial program. Do not record it as release, parole, or discharge. The final book-out comes later under the controlling sentence and any other holds. This distinction matters when a family member sees the person outside the building yet the status line still reports custody.

Montcalm Jail Release History Context
The present jail opened on March 1, 2002. Montcalm County says the building began with 119 beds. Its history then states that a 52-bed remodel brought capacity to 181 and a 24-bed addition produced the current stated total of 205. The first arithmetic step does not reconcile, since 119 plus 52 equals 171. That discrepancy should remain visible rather than be corrected without another official source.
The county also identifies twenty full-time corrections officers and four sergeants. Those staffing and capacity details describe the facility, not the number of people released. No official annual release total or average stay was found, so neither should be inferred from the bed count.
The facility history also explains why the jail page, phone system, and county records office are the local sources. Carson City Correctional Facility is nearby, but it is a separate MDOC prison. A name associated with both places may reflect a transfer after sentencing, not two independent community releases. Compare the county book-out disposition with the first MDOC status entry when that sequence appears.
Montcalm Jail Release Photos
No public Montcalm County Jail roster, recent-release photo feed, or official sheriff inmate app was found. A booking image should be requested through FOIA as its own item, identified by name, date of birth, booking number or date range, and the phrase “booking photograph associated with this booking.” Ask for electronic delivery and a fee estimate.
A selected Sheriff's Office news post may contain an incident image, but the Facebook stream is not a full booking archive and does not prove release.
